Vegas Here we come. Its my sister in laws "40th" Birthday party in Las Vegas Barbara, Peters wife. I am so excited we are getting ready to leave this weekend. I will be driving down from Utah with a friend of mine Sayra, Aunt NormaJean, and still waiting to hear from Claire. The others will come from the L.A. area to meet us there. We will be leaving this Friday the 30th and coming home Sunday the 1st. The kids are out of school this Friday so we have a busy week ahead of our selfs. What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas - especially with 15-16 women together. We will see you all soon!

Our Back Yard

Ben decide to work on our back yard today. It had several weeds with piles and piles of rocks through out the whole yard. The winter left several new items to grow and this area once being underwater we found several number of colors and size stones.

Once the kids came home we put them to work. They moved all the rocks out. It is ready and prepared to do what ever our heart desires. Of course we have ideas but still do not know when we will be doing it yet.
Here is the finished product clean and looking great:

All the rocks and weeds are gone. There are a few neighbors putting up their fences. There will be more progress to come later. Until then I am sure we all will feel sore tomorrow.

Mothers Day Surprise

Mother's Day was so special and the kids were so excited. In the morning Damon gave me breakfast in bed. Scrabbled eggs, mini bagels and strawberries with a glass of orange juice. Loved it. The items in the picture are full of flowers which I never get because they die. Damon made the paper flowers in primary. Devon made the pink flower at school which is a pen and the pot is the holder. Mindi made a cook book which has great new recipes to try in it. The purple flower is also from Damon from school he new my favorite color. The book marks and pick flowers on the right are from church. The gifts kept coming. I guess I was an extra good mom this year for making more breakfasts, lunches for school and dinner when they are home. Ben gave me three new out fits and we went to lunch at Apple bee's yesterday. It was great. I love my kids and appreciate all that they have given to me. Thank you again to my family.
Devon provided a note book with poems and thoughts in it. I loved the story he wrote about me and wanted to share it:
BUSY WORK, BUSY PLAY, JUST WHAT DO YOU DO ALL DAY?
I think my mom goes on the roof and says " I am super women" and she flys around are back yard and when she gets hungry she eats a salad and saves the day and this is all happening when I am at school and when I get home she is flying in the living room and I said "No flying in the house you know better". So I ground my mother. The End.
Kids have such the imagination, I save the day which most mothers do. Mothers are great Happy Mothers Day to all those out there.

A New Friend In Town

Mindi and the kids found this garden snake at a near by park and brought him home. It took Mindi a while to finally pick him up and hold him after dropping the poor thing on the cement a few times. The next day Devon had found him and wanted to bring him home as a pet. Of course I said "no". So now we are asking why we don't have any pets and when can they get one. My current answer is "when you can take care of your own room, bathroom, help around the house with out asking, do your own chore's and then we will talk about it?".

Damon says the funniest things

I was studying with Devon going over his spelling words the other day. Damon was across the table having his after school snack. Devon says "This is hard and I can't do it, I just can't do it" with frustration and almost tears. Then you hear Damon say "You just have to believe in yourself Devon" of course I laughed and said thank you to Damon but Devon didn't find it to amusing.

Mindi with the Worlds Record

Mindi was at school and happen to have her camera with her. This picture is a school friends mom's best friend and is in the Geniuses World Record for the Longest Nails if you couldn't tell. She has been growing them for 29 years. She paints them herself and says she can do almost anything with them. It looks quite weird!
